Lori Dugan

Venture Partner

Lori Dugan is a highly accomplished Healthcare Executive with extensive experience in market access, payer integrated strategy, health outcomes, healthcare policy and economics, real world data, evidence generation and publication, integrated marketing campaigns, sales, and developing trusted relationships with national and regional payers, physician KOLs, hospital C-Suites, and self-funded employers to secure product and therapy market access and reimbursement.

During a career that has spanned over three decades, Lori has acquired expertise in analyzing the interdependence of the different levels of the complex healthcare market and how to impact it within a product and/or therapies life cycle.
The roster of companies for which she has worked include many of the most notable biotech and disease management companies in the world: Smith+Nephew, HeartWare/Medtronic, Johnson & Johnson, Smiths Medical, Vivra Health Advantage and American Shared Hospital Services.

Lori began her career in San Francisco by establishing the first stand-alone radiology network in California. She then went on to create many healthcare market access firsts: a diabetes disease management program that resulted in significant reduction in patient A1C, amputations, and retinopathy; an obesity and bariatric healthcare benefit for teachers and state employees that included an innovative behavioral health component; designing a market access strategy for a heart pump from clinical trial through commercialization, enabling access for children with congestive heart failure; and, she established a national musculoskeletal narrowed network and episode of care, as well as an Elite Care Center network, for NFL Hall of Fame Health for joint replacement.

Throughout Lori’s career, she has worked with merger and acquisition departments to evaluate the potential success of new technologies or therapies from a reimbursement and access perspective. Once an acquisition was made, Lori led and implemented relevant activities to achieve reimbursement goals.

Lori grew up in Southern California and attended and the University of Southern California and California State University Fullerton, where she received her Bachelor of Administration. Lori lives in Arizona with her husband, and often visits her daughter in Portland, Oregon. A fun fact about Lori is that she is a certified pastry chef, earning her certification in 2013 from the Oregon Culinary Institute.
